Counseling in Doylestown

Finding the right therapist is SUPER hard, and scary. You’re already anxious and overwhelmed, and now you have to step even further outside your comfort zone. But, you’re doing it! Keep going. Break it down into smaller steps.

You know what you need:

  • a safe, third party who won’t judge you

  • a knowledgeable, experienced professional

  • someone who will guide you out of that place of overthinking, worry, or sadness into a life that you want to live

  • and maybe most importantly, someone who gets you

Hi, I’m Xana and I help people who struggle with anxiety, have overthinking brains and question everything they do. I help smart, overachieving people who are stuck and unhappy. I help people who feel lost, sad, overwhelmed by emotions, or powerless to change their own lives.

What do you want?

Learn to trust yourself, quiet your mind, have fulfilling relationships, and find joy in your life. Live free from never-ending thoughts and overwhelming emotions. These are just some of the benefits of counseling with the best therapist for you.

How this works

I will listen closely to you and your unique experience. I will validate your feelings, help you find your strengths, and teach you tools and strategies that will help you change your world. We will do this step by step, at your pace.

I’ll be: your therapist… your guide… your confidante… your coach… even the voice in your head! helping you step from hopeless into a life of confidence, where you have dreams and goals for your future and the tools to get there.

Convenient Therapy

I am seeing clients by telehealth, also known as online therapy or video sessions. Before Covid-19, I was in-person, in my office in Doylestown, PA with no consideration of moving online. Then, 2020 happened. I learned that telehealth is amazingly effective and convenient! Learn more about how Telehealth is effective and changing the landscape of therapy.

My Story

Ask anyone who knows me to describe me and you’ll hear: great listener, compassionate, caring, honest, practical …  I am a therapist. It’s who I am, who I was designed to be. I LOVE helping people feel better, function better, live better.

For many years, early in my career, I worked with mandated clients, that is, people who were required or forced to “get help.” I worked in different systems (child welfare, education, probation, mental health) at different levels of care (hospitals, residential programs, partial hospital programs, outpatient clinics, schools).  It was great experience, and I was helping LOTS of people, BUT I wanted more. I knew there was more. So I stepped out of my comfort zone.

My passion and best clinical work are with people who know they would benefit from therapy/counseling/life coaching and who value skilled professional guidance.  In 2003, I started a private practice to serve YOU, the kind person who benefits the most from individualized, personalized, uniquely yours therapy.  I value you and want you to be the best version of yourself. I would be honored if you will allow me to join you on this life journey.

Professional Info

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. This is the highest level of licensure for social workers who provide therapy in PA and NJ. I earned a national credential, Board Certified Diplomat in Clinical Social Work (BCD), a credential based on clinical excellence over time. I am also a Licensed Master Social Worker - Clinical (LMSW-C) in Michigan (highest level of independent practice in MI), and a Licensed/Registered Telehealth Provider (based on my PA LCSW license) in both Delaware and Florida. This means that I am licensed to provide counseling to people who are physically in the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Florida and Michigan.

Why these states? I pursued licensure in the states that my clients spend significant amounts of time be it vacations/college/moving. This way they could legally continue to work with me when they were not in PA. A good relationship with the right therapist can be hard to find. Once we’ve found each other, I want to continue to help and support you as much as possible, even if it means adding another state license to my “to do” list. You matter to me.

I donate clinical services to Give an Hour. I am also a member of the National Association of Social Workers. I regularly participate in continuing education opportunities and meet with other therapists to sharpen my clinical skills.

Outside the therapy office

Yes, I’m a real person. When I’m not helping others, professionally or personally (remember it’s Who I Am), I can be found in my garden, my happy place. I love the outdoors: the wonder of plants growing, the fresh air, the vibrant colors of nature, the sunshine on my face, and the wind in my hair… well, unless it’s 30 degrees, then I’m not so happy with any wind! I also enjoy cooking, baking and sharing yummy food with others. I like being active, especially outside, and I play volleyball. My faith, family and friends are all important parts of my life.

Enough about me, I’d love to meet you!
